Jerusalem Downtown Streets Transformed into Pedestrian Centers

The Jerusalem Municipality announced their new initiative to transform of a 13 downtown streets into pedestrian centers to help local merchants and artists.

From June 1st until the end of August, downtown streets will be closed at night to traffic. Instead, chairs and street furniture will be rolled out, pedestrians can shop at local stores, eat at local restaurants and cafes, and watch street theatre and performances.

The schedule for Jerusalem street closures are as follows:

Machane Yehuda (Armonim, Hashkama, Hadekel, and Beit Yaakov): Wednesdays and Thursdays from 19:00 and 23:00, and Fridays from 09:00 to 15: 00.

Rechov Agrippas (between Nissim Bahar and Ezra Rafael): Wednesdays from 20:00 and 23:00, and Thursdays from 20:30 and 23:00.

Rechov Hillel: Tuesdays from 17:00 and 23:00, and Thursdays from 18:30 and 23:00.

Rechov Shammai: Mondays and Wednesdays between 17:00 and 23:00.

Shlomzion Hamalka: Fridays 11:30 and 15:00.

Rechov Hashoshan: Monday to Thursday from 20:00 and 23:00.

Rechov Gaza: Tuesdays from 18:00 and 23:00, and Fridays from 13:00 and 16:00.

Rechov Emek Refaim: Wednesdays and Thursdays from 18:00 and 23:00.

Derech Beit Lechem: Mondays and Tuesdays from 18:00 and 23:00
